Join Everest's Internal Audit department for their 2025 Internship Program! This is an exciting opportunity to receive exposure to the world of Internal Audit through dynamic training, firsthand business experience, and networking with the Property & Casualty (Re)Insurance industry's leading experts and experienced finance professionals. A prospective candidate can expect to build upon their established academic foundations and apply learnings to real world scenarios.

The Program will run for 10 weeks: June 2 - August 8, 2025

Your Impact and Opportunity

An internship within Internal Audit is a unique opportunity to combine the experience provided by (Re)Insurance industry exposure, with accounting and auditing exposure which is typically only found through an internship program in public accounting. At Everest, you will have an opportunity to see the internal workings of a global (Re)Insurance company, combined with the skills and knowledge required of an accountant and auditor. During the internship, you can expect to:

  • Develop, through training and on the job learning, an in-depth understanding of the insurance and reinsurance operations and strategies, financial reporting, investments, and the associated regulatory environment.
  • Get hands on experience in testing a variety of Sarbanes-Oxley controls. This will provide insight into management's controls program, as well as an opportunity to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
  • Be involved in one or more audit projects, which will provide insight into industry operating guidelines and the core role that Internal Audit plays in organizations.
  • Get an opportunity to participate in and contribute towards audit automation and digitization initiatives within the Internal Audit Department.
  • Present observations from both analytical and traditional audit results to senior leaders with the Internal Audit Department.
  • Assist in the project management analysis for purposes of reporting controls and audit project status, as well as tracking and monitoring the audit findings identified.
  • Attend and observe meetings associated with audit projects and the presentation of audit findings.
  • Participate in senior-leadership led events, collaborate on cross-functional group projects, and engage in growth developmental activities.
  • Establish relationships and invest in building trust with business process owners across the organization.

What You Bring: Experience & Qualifications
  • You are a sophomore or a junior pursuing a bachelor's degree at an accredited college/university, preferably majoring in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a similar field of study
  • Possess relevant skills and experience through your chosen field of study to critically analyze large sets of data, and draw conclusions based on analyses performed which can inform future decisions or courses of action
  • Conversant in basic accounting terminology and concepts
  • Comfortable learning to use new technology, such as AuditBoard, ACL, PowerBI and other applications used throughout the organization
  • Proficient in the complete Microsoft Office suite of applications. MS Excel and MS PowerPoint will be used extensively
  • Possess excellent analytical, organizational, communication and collaboration skills
  • Display leadership or involvement in extracurricular activities, campus clubs/organizations, your community, etc.
  • Have an ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
