Location: LuLu Wang Center
Reports to Custodial Supervisor
Days/Work Hours Thursday to Monday, Hours - 4:00pm to 12:00am (Midnight)
Days off Tuesday and Wednesday
Pay rate $29.17 per hour (plus 4% differential)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work under the direction of the Custodial Supervisor and Lead Custodian or Assistant Lead Custodian. Responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of building areas.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Open and secure buildings as needed.
  • Remove daily trash - wash containers on a regular schedule.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks for recycling and events.
  • Requisition and receive supplies.
  • Vacuum hallways and common areas.
  • Clean bathrooms, kitchenettes, scrub showers, tubs, mirrors and toilets.
  • Wash inside windows and glass partitions.
  • Learn to use power equipment, floor machines, vacuum's knowledge of floor care (stripping and refinish) carpet cleaning.
  • Use chemicals properly.
  • Set up for college events, replace light bulbs, call in maintenance repairs, and emergencies.
  • Snow shoveling.
  • Perform similar or related duties as requested by the Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Be well organized and adaptable to change.
  • Must work pleasantly with students and staff, with high regards to customer service.
  • Position also requires a significant amount of walking and standing.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, including both verbal and written presentational skills as well as good leadership qualities. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and understand the importance of customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor or Custodial Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
  • Must have High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Valid driving license required.
  • Experience in a college environment is preferred.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Able to withstand long period of walking, standing, twisting and lifting.
  • Operate assigned equipment and vehicle.
