Job Description

GPI is seeking three (3) data technicians to join the Traffic Department data collection team to serve as accident record support staff. The candidates will assist the existing NJDOT and GPI staff with processing and validating incident data, including organizing mailed cases, verifying electronic submissions, and managing support tasks. The role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. This work will be performed from the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Ewing NJ offices.

GPI will train the reviewer regarding the NJTR-1 Reports before starting the position at the NJDOT. All other training will be on the job. The position is for a minimum of one (1) year.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile and organize daily data received from various sources
  • Review and sort data for errors
  • Track and maintain accurate records of data
  • Coordination with other GPI staff
  • Run basic queries on the data
  • Document work on a daily basis and provide status updates to GPI Project Manager
  • Report progress and coordinate with the GPI and NJDOT Project Manager
  • Perform quality control as needed
  • Work with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth or similar imagery, Adobe Acrobat and potentially other NJDOT programs
  • Opportunity to work with PostgreSQL
  • Generally, work a 40-hour work week
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or A.S. degree is preferred
  • 0-5 years of experience working with data
  • Be able to work from the NJDOT Ewing, NJ Offices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required
  • Reliable transportation to access job and a valid driver's license in good standing
  • Reliable, responsible, punctual and professional
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients and GPI team members
  • Proficiency in data entry and analysis
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Familiar with incident reporting systems is a plus
  • Programming experience is a plus

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
