Job Summary

The F&G Accounting & Finance Development Program ("FDP") is a two-year program, consisting of three rotations. The FDP is intended to attract recent, highly talented college graduates, or professionals with minimal experience to date, in the fields of Accounting and/or Finance. The FDP is designed to develop these graduates into future leaders through broad exposure to various financial activities and offers the opportunity for accelerated growth and development. This FDP will give candidates a professional experience with the tools and resources you need to succeed.

What We're Looking For

We are searching for exceptional leader-potential students who demonstrate leadership skills through experience, internships and extracurricular activities. They must have an aptitude to apply accounting and finance skills in job situations, and should possess strong interpersonal skills as well as a commitment to excellence and integrity.

Details of the Program:

  • Start Date: June 2025
  • 2-year program made up of three, 8-month rotations to enable you to deliver value to F&G while gaining relevant career experiences within various disciplines of Finance.
  • At the end of the Program, you will have a role within Finance that balances your career preferences and the needs of the F&G at that time.
Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting and Finance Development Associates may work in various roles within the Finance groups including, but not limited to:
  • Expense Management
  • Financial Reporting
  • Internal Audit
  • Financial Controls
  • Capital Management
  • Capital Markets
  • Investment Accounting
Expense Management Rotation

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with monthly expense financial close and reporting including review of results for accuracy, general ledger entries, accruals and variance analysis
  • Assist with preparation of summary level expense presentation materials for department leaders
  • Participate with development of monthly expense forecast updates and annual departmental budget process
  • Serve as a project team member for expense team projects, including, but not limited to forecasts, plan, DAC, M&A analysis, system upgrades, and report enhancements
  • Aid with the administration and analysis of the Company's Business Spend Management software (Coupa)
  • Assist in ad-hoc reporting and analysis
Financial Reporting Rotation

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the preparation and validation of the GAAP and Statutory financial statements and reporting packages
  • Preparing reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts and other financial data
  • Preparing journal entries and supporting analysis
  • Assisting with the monthly/quarterly close calendar and the coordination of close activities
  • Assisting with the requests of both internal and external auditors
  • Assisting with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to financial reporting and analysis, as assigned
Internal Audit Rotation
Responsibilities:
  • Participating in internal audits (including walkthroughs, risk assessments, control design evaluations, and detailed testing) in execution of the annual audit plan
  • Coordinating client/customer requests and oversight of control testing, with Internal and External partners, for low to moderate complexity processes
  • Executing design/effectiveness control testing over low to moderate complexity controls
  • Communicating noted issues, risks, and control deficiencies to the Audit Leadership, in an effective manner
  • Providing support for key internal audit administrative processes (status/time reporting)
Financial Controls Rotation

Responsibilities:
  • Participating in SOX/MAR scoping and materiality assessments
  • Providing internal controls related support to special projects
  • Coordination of process walkthroughs between management and internal/external audit
  • Assisting with the requests of both internal and external auditors
  • Design effectiveness evaluation over low to moderate complexity controls
  • Other duties related to Internal Control services, as assigned
Investment Accounting Rotation

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the completion of GAAP and STAT reporting for investments, including NAIC annual and quarterly statements and related analysis, ensuring completeness, accuracy and the timely delivery of completed results.
  • Preparing reconciliations of investment accounting balances in system of record to general ledger and preparing journal entries and supporting analysis.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal control procedures and maintenance of evidence of controls. Assisting in the review and maintenance of control documentation and ensuring all controls are completed timely.
  • Assisting with the coordination of external auditor, internal audit requests, and state insurance department examinations.
  • Actively seeks and proposes methods for continuing process improvements in the reporting, analysis and system functions.
  • Assisting with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to Investment Accounting, as assigned.

Capital Management Rotation

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the completion of regulatory and rating agency capital calculations (actuals, plan and forecast)
  • Assisting with analytics around capital calculations and various rating agency related metrics
  • Assist with presentation support for various capital management deliveries
  • Assist with quarterly close calendar and coordination of close activities
  • Assist with forecasting calendar and coordination of forecast activities
  • Assisting with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to capital management and rating agency support, as assigned.
  • Ensuring completeness, accuracy and timely delivery of assigned items.
Capital Markets Rotation

Responsibilities:
  • Supports Capital Markets through participation in projects, development and implementation of new initiatives, and/or process enhancements.
  • Responsible for program monitoring, including analysis and report preparation to ensure F&G maximizes its available opportunities in debt, equity, and funding agreement markets.
  • Execute controls related to Capital Markets on a periodic basis.
  • Creates efficiencies in processes and documentation around Capital Markets fixed income markets reporting and other required reporting.
  • Assists in gathering balance sheet information from internal partners to assist in development of long-term liquidity and capital raising strategies to support the growth objectives of F&G

Experience and Education Requirements
  • College graduate or MBA with a major in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration with an Accounting/Finance emphasis, or Business Analytics
  • Minimum GPA Requirement of 3.25
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Self-starter; strong personal motivation and initiative
