Job Summary
Responsible for teaching Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses didactically and clinically in accordance with the philosophy, vision, mission, policies, and procedures of the college. Under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor, Faculty will follow a curriculum set per the College and the Arizona Division of EMS to include course classroom theory, and skill sets. Instructors are responsible for preparing students for the state certification/licensure exams (written and skills).
ResponsibilitiesSalary: $900.00 per credit hour
Education:
One year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), paramedic, emergency room registered nurse, or physician routinely administering Basic Life Support (BLS) care.
Certified in the state of Arizona as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic (EMT-P), registered nurse, and/or physician.
Please note: Your application materials will remain in the part-time pool for one year from date of receipt. This does not imply application for a full-time teaching position. If a full-time position becomes available, you must submit new materials for the advertised position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties require physical effort in working with moderate (up to 50 lbs). Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, repetitive motion and viewing a monitor. Some specialized faculty positions may require the lifting of heavier weights although lifting may be assisted.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Demonstrate the willingness as well as the capacity to cooperate in a professional and courteous manner with other college employees and students. Share knowledge and contribute to helping others collegially while supporting the mission of the college.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is performed in a classroom and/or lab skills area. These areas may have occasional distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements. The position requires transportation to variety of clinical nursing facilities.
