FPGA Firmware Developer

Cannonsburg, PA

Contract Position

$47.21-$52.21/Hour

FPGA Firmware Developer job in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Defense company. In this job you will contribute to state-of-the-art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and design FPGA firmware hierarchies, components, and interfaces.
• Develop, simulate, and test firmware in line with detailed design specifications.
• Define FPGA timing, pinout, and placement constraints, and review synthesis and timing reports to address issues.
• Integrate and test firmware on target hardware, utilizing FPGA tools for debugging.
• Identify necessary schematic updates and hardware reworks.
• Document failures, perform root cause analysis, implement fixes, and verify changes.
• Maintain configuration management documentation for FPGA designs.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen with Active Secret Security Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics; 5+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience implementing FPGA firmware with VHDL, including custom components like state machines and logic processes.
• Familiarity with Xilinx (AMD) and/or Altera (Intel) tools for programming and debugging.
• Proficiency in FPGA fabric design, cross-clock boundaries, and floor planning.
• Experience reviewing schematics, parts lists, and documentation for reworks.
• Knowledge of network protocols (IPv4, UDP, TCP/IP) and digital signal processing filters.
• Agile experience preferred.
