Advocate Supervisor

All Cases assigned will be located in the Victoria, TX area. Candidates must reside within this area or be willing to relocate.

Academic Requirements: Required - Bachelors degree from accredited program/institution in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology or related field of study. Master's degree preferred.

Certifications: Preferred License - LMSW, LCSW, LPC or related license

Work experience: Required - Bachelors Degree and 4 years related experience and/or training, including progressive employment experience working with children and/or young adults with complex trauma histories, and supervisory experience. Preferred Masters Degree and LMSW, LCSW, LPC or related license. Experience working with victims and/or survivors of human trafficking.

Supervises: Advocates, Interns, and Volunteers as assigned

Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:

1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.

2. Monitor staff to ensure that assigned cases meet quality assurance measures including accurate assessment of children's needs, development and implementation of service plans, and ongoing contact with the service population.

3. Identify trends and training needs and develop trainings with senior leadership.

4. In consultation with the Regional Director make decisions affecting the safety and permanency of the child and provide guidance to supervisees.

5. Monitor staff to ensure they engage each child and the family/sponsor in the casework.

6. Participate in community meetings and building program relationships in community.

7. Ensure assigned team remains within travel expenditure, efficiency, and safety protocols.

8. Monitor staff to ensure that children progress toward risk reduction and achieve treatment goals and positive case outcomes.

9. Monitor staff records, files, form, statistics and information in the children's records comply with agency, federal and state standards and requirements.

10. Address performance challenges and ensure assigned personnel meet all deadlines and safety requirements for all cases assigned.

11. Ensure team work scheduling meets program expectations and protocol.

12. Provide supportive, accurate, and immediate case guidance for direct reports.

13. Ensure communication up and down the chain is immediate, including all safety concerns and required reporting.

14. Collaborate effectively with community providers, ensuring program relationships are continuously developed and services are not duplicated.

15. Participate in scheduled meetings, in-service training and team decisions.

16. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.

17. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS HHS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate referrals, service planning and documentation for the assigned service population.

2. Act as a liaison with program and service resources, including shelters, child protection, state and federal law enforcement, community providers, legal providers, immigration court and the service population.

3. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.

4. Frequently traverse from one location to another.

5. Meets all deadlines required by program supervisor and state and federal partners.

Requirements:

1. Pass a pre-employment screen and random drug screens throughout employment.

2. Participate in all required program trainings.

3. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.

4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.

5. Demonstrate the ability to:

a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics.

b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English. Bilingual ability in Spanish strongly preferred.

c. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.

d. Organize and prioritize responsibilities and duties efficiently.

e. Maintain computer literacy required for the position.

f. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

g. Supportively, positively, and effectively supervise a team to reach top performance capacity and continued professional growth.
