Position Summary:

Pima Community College's Office of Sponsored Programs Awards & Contracts (OSPAC) Team invites applications for the position of Grants and Contracts Analyst to perform a variety of accounting and financial reporting functions for all types of awards and contracts executed by the College. Pima Community College currently manages many grants, subawards, and fees for service arrangements. General knowledge and understanding of GAAP, internal control management, knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations (2 CFR 200), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR),and sponsor/funder regulations as required. Position performs a variety of accounting and financial reporting functions, including budget reviews/analyses, income statement reconciliations, prepares adjusting journal entries, prepares and completes cash draws and invoicing, completes quarterly reporting, annual reporting, and participates with evidence collection for annual audits.

The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, monitors and reconciles monthly expenditures in the general ledger for contract and grant funds, collaborates with project director/manager to identify any expenditure discrepancies to determine adjustments, such as journal entries and/or payroll adjustments
  • Works with academic programs to review and analyze budgets for allowable costs within the framework of the agreement for contracts to ensure alignment with the budget and scope of work
  • Reviews and understands scope of work for subawards and contractual agreements executed by the College
  • Provides support to project directors/managers regarding budget adjustments, billing, or other concerns
  • Experience with multiple online portal systems to complete invoicing on behalf of the College
  • Works collaboratively with project directors/managers and Sponsored Programs Team to perform contract closeouts and includes reconciling the contract to include completing any adjustments needed and or final invoicing and or reporting for the College
  • Pulling data from multiple sources and creating reports for billing purposes to support invoicing for the agreement

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field of study and
  • Three to five years of related experience in accounting or finance
or
  • An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Preferred:
  • Master's degree or in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field of study
  • Five to eight years of related experience in accounting or finance
The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Enterprise Management tools
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Practices (GAAP)
  • Internal Controls Management
  • 2 CFR, Part 200, Subpart E, Cost Principles
  • Single Audit (formerly known as A-133 Audit)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and follow-through
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgetary theories, principles and practices
  • Proficiency with computer systems; particularly Microsoft Excel, Adobe PDF, and Google
  • Ability to learn new systems and adapt to changes
