Loads and Dynamics Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine Finite Element Models (FEM) for spacecraft and related systems, ensuring validation and correlation to tests.
• Analyze rigid and flexible body dynamics for spacecraft systems.
• Model, simulate, and verify spacecraft events such as launch, docking, and landing.
• Measure and interpret data from acceleration, shock, and vibration tests conducted on ground and flight systems.
• Contribute to general loads development for spacecraft and ground systems.
• Support configuration development and trade studies to optimize spacecraft performance.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
• Experience: 5+ years in structural dynamics and loads prediction/validation, with expertise in finite element modeling.
• Skills:
  • Strong foundation in structural static/dynamic principles.
  • Proficiency in solving static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and commercial analytical tools).
• Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in spacecraft and launch vehicle loads development/validation.
• Proficiency in tools such as Hyperworks, NASTRAN, Matlab, LS-Dyna, Adams, Wave6, and SEA.
• Expertise in high-frequency environment prediction for spacecraft and launch vehicles.
