Application Developer II â€" Legal Department Support

Adams & Martin Group is seeking a Application Developer II to support our clients legal department for a 2 year long contract. The Application Developer II will report to the Development Team Lead and collaborate with the General Counsel, this role supports the legal department by developing, maintaining, and enhancing secure software systems tailored to the organization's operational and compliance needs. The Application Developer II will work under limited supervision, leveraging expertise in programming and problem-solving to build robust applications that meet the department's unique requirements while ensuring data security and regulatory compliance.

This role requires a candidate with strong technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to innovation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

* Application Development:

o Design, develop, and maintain software applications to meet business and legal department needs.

o Translate user stories and requirements into functional, secure software solutions.

o Conduct research and implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance application performance and reliability.

* System Support and Security:

o Troubleshoot, debug, and provide advanced support for internally developed applications.

o Ensure application and system security by adhering to software development best practices and industry standards.

o Collaborate with the legal and IT teams to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

* Collaboration and Documentation:

o Partner with IT staff to streamline workflows and processes, creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation.

o Work with project managers and product owners to gather requirements, design systems, and create user stories tailored to legal operations.

o Assist other IT initiatives as needed to support the legal department and broader organizational goals.

* Testing and Innovation:

o Develop and execute software testing protocols to ensure functionality and security.

o Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in software development to foster innovation and improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Experience working within Agile development frameworks.

* Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git.

* Proven track record of developing software using MVC frameworks.

* Minimum one year of hands-on experience with programming languages and tools such as:

o Python

o PHP

o Ruby on Rails (RoR)

o Django

o JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS

* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

* A 2- or 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

* Familiarity with cloud platforms or IaaS solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

* Experience with GNU/Linux environments.

* Proficiency in modern database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL).
