ECS is seeking highly skilled and experienced Epigenomics Advisors to support groundbreaking initiatives (to be announced) funded by the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) and led by the Proactive Health mission office (PHO). This position requires a deep understanding of epigenetic mechanisms, advanced genomic technologies, and bioinformatics tools.

About PHO. The PHO is seeking solutions to improve the health span and health outcomes of Americans prior to the onset of disease and/or the development of diminished quality of life from illness. The PHO mission office seeks to create capabilities to detect and characterize disease risk and promote treatments and behaviors to anticipate threats whether viral, bacterial, chemical, physical, or psychological.

What you will do. In this role, you will serve as a "systems engineering and technical assistance" advisor to the PHO Program Manager (PM) by providing support and thought leadership to the PM, the performer teams, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem in the research and development of revolutionary approaches that will prevent, delay, and mitigate adverse effects of disease, and improve mental and physical outcomes. More broadly, you will enable the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation's healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. This includes:

Serve as a scientific and technical advisor for cutting-edge research projects.

Collaborate and support a team of performers across a range of expertise in disease including but not limited to cancer, diabetes, neurological diseases, pediatric and maternal/fetal health, infectious diseases, and cardiovascular disease.

Facilitate the identification, development and testing of solutions that will align to three PHO technical areas: 1) population-level improvements in access to and uptake of disease prevention and wellness-promoting behaviors; 2) development of novel early-detection methods and prophylactic interventions that could drastically improve the health of American throughout their lives, and 3) system level innovations required for delivery of proactive health effectively.

Support program managers in the development, technology transition, and commercialization of these new research methods, concepts, technologies, and processes.

Provide strategic assessments of methods and technologies related to the development of solutions for testing and optimization.
