Position Summary:The Department of Accounting in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position, to begin Fall 2025. All areas of accounting will be considered (AIS, financial, managerial, tax). There may also be opportunities to teach an occasional course outside of the department. Appointment at the rank of assistant professor is likely, but qualified candidates may be considered for a higher rank.
The duties in this role include:
- Teach 5 classes in an academic year or an equivalent to 20 credit hours
- Teach some combination of: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Advanced, AIS, Fraud or Tax
- Be available to mentor students outside of class (during office hours)
- Become involved in student organizations, student research etc.
- Stay current in the accounting field
- Publish 2 articles in peer-reviewed journals every 5 years to maintain AACSB standards.
- Participate in service to the department, including but not limited to: searches, student group advising, admissions days and outreach, curricular oversight and implementation
- Participate in college-wide service, including required meetings and events and major service roles
Basic qualifications are required at the time of application:
- An advanced degree, either an MST, PhD, or DBA in Accounting.
- Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.
Preferred qualifications (not required qualifications for the position):
- CPA certification would be a plus.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and communities is highly desirable.

The salary range for this position: $95,000-$105,000
