Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of the measurement of cognitive and language abilities in children with intellectual and developmental disorders, as well as research subject recruitment and the management and analysis of longitudinal data sets. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include designing, implementing, and analyzing research projects related to cognitive and language abilities of individuals with intellectual disabilities, primarily Williams syndrome and Down syndrome.  Collaborating with a team of research assistants, graduate students, and undergraduate students on the implementation of research protocols and data analyses, including projects addressing the developmental trajectories of individuals with Williams syndrome. Recruiting and enrolling participants for a study on early communication measures and abilities in children with Down syndrome.  Managing a large longitudinal dataset of vocabulary and grammatical abilities as measured by parental-report-based standardized assessments.   Administering standardized and play-based assessments to children with intellectual and developmental disorders, primarily Williams syndrome and Down syndrome. Leading and collaborating on the preparation of manuscripts and presenting findings from research projects for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
