Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Underwriting Assistant to join our dynamic underwriting team. In this role, you will provide vital administrative support to the underwriting department by assisting with the processing and evaluation of insurance applications. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, an eagerness to learn, and a desire to grow within the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:

Application Review: Assist in reviewing insurance applications and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.

Data Entry: Enter and maintain policyholder and application data in our underwriting system.

Document Management: Organize and file underwriting documents, ensuring all files are up-to-date and properly categorized.

Communication: Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients to gather additional information or clarify policy details as needed.

Risk Analysis Support: Assist underwriters in evaluating risk factors based on information provided, including reviewing basic reports, claims history, and loss prevention measures.

Underwriting Support: Help prepare quotes, policy endorsements, and other underwriting documentation.

Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders by responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Other Duties: Assist with various administrative tasks as needed to support the underwriting team and ensure smooth department operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred, especially in business, finance, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to manage time effectively and work well under pressure.
- Eagerness to learn and develop in the insurance industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Prior experience in an office or customer service setting is a plus, but not required.
