Aviation Project Engineer

Barge Design Solutions is seeking a talented and motivated Aviation Project Engineer to join our team in Memphis, TN. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the planning, design, and execution of aviation infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and innovation at every stage. Responsibilities:
- Engineering lead for airport projects to include runway, taxiway, access road, drainage improvement and pavement rehabilitation projects
- Design and construction oversight for general aviation clients
- Collaborating with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve a variety of complex problems
- Coordination with clients and funding agencies
- Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
- Prepares and reviews technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projects
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
- Prepares cost estimates for assigned projects
- Oversees construction projects, conducts project site visits, reviews contractor's submittals, pay applications, etc.
- Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills; works independently on multiple tasks without immediate supervision
- Builds and maintains excellent interpersonal relationships
Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Minimum of 5 years of Civil Engineering or aviation related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama and Florida, or an ability to obtain within 6 months of start date, is required
- Experience using MicroStation V8i and/or AutoCad; Civil3D experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, and prepared to assume responsible charge for project designs
- Skill using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
