Biomedical Technician
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Clinical Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Full Time Biomedical Technician 1 to work at the UHealth Medical Campus.
Core Summary
The Biomedical Technician - Per Diem performs a variety of routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment, under the supervision and guidance of a more experienced biomedical technician.
Core Responsibilities
Utilizes standard and specialized electronic test equipment and tools.
Repairs, tests, and calibrates medical equipment according to recommendations.
Manages recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, including medical device hazard investigations.
Assures compliance with patient safety goals and applicable requirements.
Performs departmental audits and rounds.
Orders replacement parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment.
Prioritizes work load effectively and completes all work assignments in a timely manner.
Maintains accurate documentation as required by current policies and procedures.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications
Associate degree in relevant field, preferred Associate in Biomedical Engineering
Minimum 0-1 years of relevant experience
Preferred Certification CABT

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
