Biomedical Technician

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Clinical Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Full Time Biomedical Technician 1 to work at the UHealth Medical Campus.

Core Summary

The Biomedical Technician - Per Diem performs a variety of routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment, under the supervision and guidance of a more experienced biomedical technician.

Core Responsibilities

• Utilizes standard and specialized electronic test equipment and tools.

• Repairs, tests, and calibrates medical equipment according to recommendations.

• Manages recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, including medical device hazard investigations.

• Assures compliance with patient safety goals and applicable requirements.

• Performs departmental audits and rounds.

• Orders replacement parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment.

• Prioritizes work load effectively and completes all work assignments in a timely manner.

• Maintains accurate documentation as required by current policies and procedures.

• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications

• Associate degree in relevant field, preferred Associate in Biomedical Engineering

• Minimum 0-1 years of relevant experience

• Preferred Certification CABT
