Primary Role

Responsible for the on-site inspection of construction work for water resource projects. Primarily lead service line replacements.

Key Accountabilities

• Conducts on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure conformance to contract documents. (50%)
• Oversees compliance with the requirements of permits or approvals granted for construction. Coordinate with permitting agencies for inspections and certifications of compliance. (5%)
• Represents the Water Company as the primary point of on-site contact for construction contractors. Serve as a liaison between construction contractors and the Water Company. (15%)
• Represents the Water Company as primary point of contact for customers when scheduling service line work on customers property and collecting water samples from the customer. (15%)
• Prepare project documentation in accordance with Company Standards.
• Maintains records of work changes and assists in preparation of "as built" records. (10%)
• Review and approval of construction contractor progress payments. (5%)
  

Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of engineering specifications and surveying principles.
• Knowledge of construction means and methods.
• Knowledge of federal and company safety regulations, and knowledge of critical path and method scheduling principles.
• Coordinating, scheduling and organizational skills.
• Ability to read engineering plans and specifications.
• Communication skills (e.g., verbal, listening and recording).
• Interpersonal skills (e.g., tact/diplomacy, persuasion, cooperation).
• Attention to details.
  

Experience/Education

• Three(3) years experience on construction projects.
• High School Diploma.
• Certifications & Licenses: NICET Preferred.

Work Environment

• 50% Field/50% Office.
  

Travel Requirements

• Travel within 2 hrs. drive occasionally required, infrequent overnight travel.
