Contract Specialist II

Location: The ideal candidate will be based within 50 miles of the preferred Elevance Health locations: ID- Idaho, GA- Columbus. Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model with pulse point sites (major offices) used for collaboration, community, and connection. This position will be primarily in the office 1-2x a week.

AmeriBen is a proud member of the Elevance Health family of companies. We are a third-party administrator (TPA) of medical benefits, also providing medical management, human resource consulting and retirement benefits administration services.

The Contract Specialist II will be responsible for initiating, preparing and/or revising master group and ASO contract documents.

How you will make an impact:

  • Researches group benefits and rating history and makes recommendations. Analyzes complex specifications and ensures that plan features are included. Maintains automated tracking system.
  • Creates boilerplate documents and determines and inserts optional paragraphs or benefit options for manuals containing policy from approved language. Performs basic research to determine the legal names of group, type of benefit, and rating mechanism required, as well as the status of the group at time of request.
  • Maintains automated status logs and prepares monthly and periodic reports. Maintains related contract files and sets up group for future contract documents.
  • Responds to plan personnel or groups regarding status of documents.
  • Answers questions about contracts and amendments.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires a H.S. diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
  • Experience in Third-Party Administration industry and/or healthcare industry is preferred
  • Able to demonstrate demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong critical thinking and research abilities, the capacity to understand and generate complex content, a positive attitude with a strong drive to assist others, sound judgment in problem solving, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently, perform multitasking, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced, self-directed environment.
  • Ensure compliance with security practices and procedures, including HIPAA and HITRUST standards is preferred
