What will you be doing?

Item Coding Operations serves as the architects and owners of item coding, which entails the capture of observable product characteristics for items moving within the CPG (consumer packaged goods) industry, with item coding ultimately supporting all syndicated and custom product attribution maintained by IRI.

As an Operations Specialist within Item Coding Operations, you will spend your time working with IRI's proprietary item coding platform, assigning attribute and value pairings to individual items. To do this, the Operations Specialist position requires you to recognize an item's product characteristics through retailer POS (point-of-sale) descriptions and product images, in order to complete an item's coding in an accurate and efficient manner, all the while following IRI's item coding methodology.

You will be required to action against high-volumes of item sets in an independent fashion, ensuring that you meet your quality and efficiency targets. In addition to physically coding items, you will be expected to engage with other internal partners to provide subject matter expertise and to help problem solve potential quality and/or process issues. With this, many of your interactions within your team, and across the organization, will be done through a virtual work environment.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and able to efficiently execute their work with accuracy. It is important that the individual can quickly assess a scenario, identify a course of action, and implement it with success. And the right candidate must have a desire to become an expert within their assigned product categories, Item Coding Operations, and with IRI.
