Description:
Food manufacturer in the Momence, IL area is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Analyst to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cost accounting principles and be proficient in financial analysis. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and reporting cost accounting data to support informed business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, analyze, and report on cost accounting data, including standard cost reports, inventory levels, cost comparisons, and product costing analysis.
• Track and analyze cost variances, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and cost projections.
• Develop and maintain standard costing systems and procedures.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions and cost of goods sold.
• Collaborate with operations and production teams to optimize cost efficiency.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
• Adhere to accounting principles and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
