About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Talent & Development team at the global leader in implantable hearing devices! In this role, you will be based in our Americas head office in Lone Tree, CO. This role is hybrid, requiring you to be in the office 2 days per week minimum, with 3 days per week working from home.

This position will support the development and lead the delivery of Culture and Capability development frameworks, tools and programs within the Americas geographic region. They will work closely with global colleagues and local business leaders to apply and modify (where required) globally aligned approaches and solutions for local and regional application. The scope of this role includes leadership development, diversity, equity and inclusion, culture, engagement, and broader capability development as well as supporting team development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Development and delivery of global talent development programs

  • Deploy and deliver global learning and leadership development programs adjusting content for cultural/functional/regional differences as appropriate
  • Deploy and deliver IDE, engagement and culture initiatives in alignment with global strategy and programs; design and deliver region-specific initiatives; provide advice to managers on specific local/functional needs
  • Design and deliver Team Development workshops, utilising global tools and methodologies
  • Deploy learning prioritising accessibility and translations so that we are employing inclusive practices in the delivery of learning
  • Manage learning offerings and sessions in the LMS including scheduling, enrolments, completions, links, materials, pre work, post work and feedback as required
  • Ensure data is captured for reporting purposes and aligned to global metrics to demonstrate ROI

Design and development of Culture, IDE and engagement initiatives
  • Partner with global talent development colleagues to design and deploy solutions that build our target culture of innovation, achievement and inclusion
  • Drive alignment to the global culture and IDE strategy and influence business leaders and Employee Resource Groups to focus on impactful and strategically aligned initiatives
  • Analyse data for the Americas and develop insights to inform recommendations that focus our local IDE efforts and initiatives most effectively; ensure the Culture and IDE Advisory Council for the Americas has the regular presentations/updates on data, metrics and progress throughout the year
  • Seek out internal and external standard methodologies and good practices in IDE that can be leveraged more broadly in the Americas to reach our local and global goals
  • Ensure that local compliance programs related to IDE (e.g., Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, the Americans with Disabilities Act, etc.) and other applicable requirements are designed and deployed effectively and in a timely fashion.

Work in collaboration with People Advisory Service (PAS) and Operational Business Partners (OBP) to ensure a positive employee experience of culture and capability development
  • Work in collaboration with the People Advisory Service and Business Partners in the application of global tools and processes
  • Contribute to cross-functional project teams by sharing expert advice from a culture and capability development standpoint to deliver solutions that support inclusion, engagement, career growth and development
  • Communicate and promote global practices and processes that support organisational, team and individual development

Support managers and empower employees to drive our culture, increase capability, and leverage global people and culture processes
  • Develop people leaders and employees to create Individual Development Plans and take ownership of exploring career opportunities through learning and development activities
  • Support career development of our people through our processes such as external learning, coaching, 360 feedback, mentoring programs
  • Support the development activities that emerge as teams action-plan their engagement survey results as appropriate
  • Provide mentoring and support to the business with a focus on our core leadership models (SLII, Feedback, Challenging Conversations, Inclusive Leadership)

Key Requirements

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities in your application and at interview:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Learning/OD, culture and Inclusion, Diversity and Equity
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience in developing and implementing programs that drive progress towards organizational priorities
  • Experience developing and successfully implementing IDE strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent operational/analytical skills with a track record of leveraging data to measure success of existing initiatives and inform opportunities for new initiatives.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to ensure delivery of training to employees working across varied countries/functions
  • Strong understanding of, and demonstrated experience in, facilitating leadership and employee development programs, and executing initiatives in talent, learning and development
  • Deep understanding of best practices and trends in diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to translate into an actionable strategy and driving action across various teams.

  • Pay Range in the United States: $105,000 - $120,000 based upon experience, as well as an annual bonus opportunity of 15% of base salary. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
