Data Analyst / Statistician
Location: Emeryville (Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days remote)
Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (or 9:00 am - 5:30/6:00 pm), with flexible lunch options (30 minutes or 1 hour)
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000/year

Are you a data-driven problem solver with a background in legal settings? We are seeking a Data Analyst / Statistician with a focus on wage and hour exposure to join our growing team in Emeryville. This role involves working closely with the Project Manager to analyze complex legal data, identify violations, and calculate settlements for legal cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze paystubs and data obtained from legal discovery, including wage and hour violations, overtime, bonuses, and other legal compensation matters.
- Handle large Excel data dumps, clean, and manipulate the data for further analysis.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and attorneys to present findings and develop data-driven solutions.
- Work with the Project Manager to calculate settlement figures and develop statistical models for class action and wage-and-hour cases.
- Develop and document processes for data extraction and analysis.
- Create dashboards and data visualizations to simplify complex datasets and communicate insights effectively.
Must-Have Skills:

Legal Background: Experience working in a law firm or legal setting, especially with employment litigation, wage & hour cases, and class action claims.

Advanced Excel Skills: Expertise in data manipulation using Excel, including working with pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and large datasets.

Analytical Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Statistician, with the ability to clean, manipulate, and analyze data.

Strong Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders, including attorneys and clients.

Attention to Detail: A proactive approach to identifying data inconsistencies and ensuring data integrity.

- A former paralegal or legal secretary with strong accounting and data analysis skills.
