Deliver, support and take ownership of information system solutions to internal departments and external customers and partners. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, understanding business processes and needs, and recommending solutions to achieve the business goals. Act as the point of contact for internal and external partners in support of the solutions. Solutions will include implementation and integration of purchased applications and development of applications and integrations where appropriate. Assume technical lead role on Business Intelligence projects. Projects are completed with cross-functional teams of IT peers and business partners. Manage time and expectations to ensure a high degree of stakeholder and user satisfaction. Train and/or mentor newer developers as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design data models using current data warehouse design techniques.
  • Develop ETL/ELT processes using Python and SQL on our data platform.
  • Build integration processes between data platform and critical analytics systems
  • Design, implement and maintain multi-dimensional models or "Cubes" to meet specific business requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation in support of the ETL/ELT nightly schedule.
  • Periodically, develop standardized parameterized reports using Microsoft SQL Reporting Services from multiple data sources.
  • Actively participate in the data quality improvement process by making recommendations to simplify data structures and improve information quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, data inconsistencies, scheduling, query performance.
  • Keep current on software development trends, employ best practices, utilize available technologies in BI and make appropriate recommendations to technology planning team.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Develop, program, and configure mission-critical reports, applications, data extracts and data pipeline jobs. Assess user requirements and provide input to departments. Liaise with other IT staff to improve system efficiency, security, and functionality.
  • Prepare new and review existing systems specifications, project plans, and other internal procedural documents. Ensure users and partners understand nature of work being performed, as well as timeframes and milestones. Provide regular status updates to supervisors and stakeholders.
  • Train users and peers in technical aspects of systems.

Supporting Responsibilities:
  • Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
  • Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUCCESS PROFILE

Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of software development and analysis in a business environment. Health care insurance industry systems experience preferred. Additional desired experience includes TriZetto Facets, Dynamics CRM, technical integration and implementation, database administration, EDI (ANSI x12 formats), FHIR, dashboard development, project management experience, and integration of enterprise-wide applications. Programming in VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#. Advanced experience with databases, Informatica and SQL stored procedures.

Education, Certificates, Licenses: BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree, licensure, or experience. Primary technologies/knowledge: Databricks, Python / T-SQL, Microsoft Master Data Services, Informatica MDM, Power BI, Microsoft SQL Reporting Services/BI DS, Microsoft SQL Analysis Services/BI DS, Tableau.

Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 10% of the time.
