Job Description:
Our client is hiring a highly skilled and experienced Database Analyst/Programmer IV to join our team. This critical role involves coordinating changes to computer databases, testing, and implementing the database with a deep understanding of database management systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database. This position requires a blend of strong technical skills, leadership, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a project team. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate database development as part of a project team, determining project scope and limitations.
- Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
- Design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, and install database management systems including database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation.
- Define and oversee database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
- Provide technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment.
- Advising applications development staff and users on data-based solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
- Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.
Qualifications: - Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training required.
- 8-10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time effectively.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Deep knowledge of database management software.
- Experience in database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation, and configuration management.
- Proficient in data mapping, data mining, and data transformational analysis tools.
- Ability to determine data storage and optimum storage requirements.
