Job Title:Director of Accelerated Nursing ProgramsDepartment:Nursing | College Administration

Position Overview

The Director of Accelerated Nursing Programs within the College of Nursing is appointed by the dean and has delegated administrative responsibility for the overall oversight and implementation of the college's graduate entry prelicensure and accelerated BSN academic programs in collaboration with the assistant and associate deans. This is a 12-month tenure or clinical track position with administrative effort of 25%. Productivity in scholarship and educational grants is an expectation of this position. The Director of Accelerated Nursing Programs reports to the associate dean for baccalaureate programs. General responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Support funding activities in support of programmatic initiatives.
  • Assist with continuous quality improvement of the respective program including accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate the evaluation of student learning and program outcomes.
  • Develop and facilitate implementation of innovative curricular design.
  • Monitor trends in nursing education and provide innovative leadership to the development, evaluation, and refinement of respective academic programs.
  • In collaboration with executive director, plan and implement effective student recruitment, advisement and retention strategies.
  • Assess the outcomes and needs of faculty for teaching effectiveness in respective academic programs.
  • Participate in assessment and evaluation of respective academic programs.
  • Represent the college on university committees focused on academic matters.
  • Provide support and mentorship for faculty teaching in respective academic programs to assure the highest quality education for student learning.
  • Participate in faculty recruitment and hiring to meet academic needs.
  • Collaborate with the office of clinical placement for recruiting, training, evaluating and recognizing clinical preceptors in academic programs with input from the assistant and associate deans.
  • Collaborate with executive director in regular meetings with faculty for academic programs.
  • Contribute to student enrollment management, admission, progression and compliance.
  • Support and facilitate the identification and the development of educational partnerships.

  • Deliver evidenced-based curriculum that meets national standards to students
  • Successfully participate in a team teaching environment

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Doctoral degree; Ohio RN license required; two years of experience in related discipline required. Experience in higher education required.

Desired: Leadership experience preferred.
