Vertiv is hiring a Director, Project Delivery in Anderson, SC. This role is a highly visible and critical leadership role that is responsible for managing a team of project managers who drive communication and coordination between external partners (customers, general contractors, site personnel, suppliers) and internally across departments (Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Field Services, and Finance) to deliver exceptional customer service and on-time product delivery for our customers from order acknowledgement to shipment from our factory.

The Project Delivery team is responsible for the successful execution of a project including cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction. The team understands the customer's perspective, proactively responds to customers, and gains customer trust by continually meeting commitments.

This is a key leadership role and will be responsible for implementing Vertiv's Global strategy and execution for the account, working with cross functional leaders through lines of business, commercial and service organizations. Teamwork with global divisions of Vertiv is of paramount importance as is the ability to work well with respected executive leaders for each client.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead team of project managers to drive effective collaboration with production schedulers, engineering design, manufacturing, purchasing and sales to manage day-to-day project requirements for customer orders to deliver on-time, on-budget with strong customer coordination and communication.
  • Guide team members to maintain effective communication throughout the life cycle of projects involving customers, technical consultants, and sub-contractors to ensure customer requirements are understood, expectations are met (or managed) and the overall project experience is customer focused.
  • Provide effective and efficient processes to deliver accurate project requirements to all internal departments (scheduling, engineering design, manufacturing, logistics, financial accounting)
  • Drive compliance and execution of commercial control of projects including initial budgets, variations/change orders and pay applications in close collaboration with sales teams.
  • Coach team members to review and understand requirements and details of each project to create and deliver project work plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Work closely with the Field Service Department to hand-off projects for all site works to be performed efficiently and with costs only incurred that can be charged to the project or associated with agreed change orders.
  • Serve as an escalation point for challenging internal and external situations, driving rapid resolution through data-driven decision making.
  • Define, improve, and drive utilization of standard Project Management tools to conduct the project effectively and consistently, achieving quality, financial and schedule targets.
  • Drive sales forecasting and project status updates to operations and finance leadership via weekly/monthly reports.
  • Evaluate, determine, and drive resourcing alignment to balance meeting the needs of all projects from simple to significantly complex Projects.
  • Develop a team-based environment that promotes the sharing of best practices and collaboration between team members and encourage continuous professional development via internal and/or external skills training.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Experience of delivering significant value projects in a Manufacturing & Engineering environment to a range of strategic customers
  • Managerial skills necessary to plan, measure, and motivate people to continuously improve their output and personal growth.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build diverse relationships internally and externally.
  • Experience in a medium to large industrial type organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical subject matter expertise in power distribution and switchgear products.
  • Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing processes, data center infrastructure and commissioning.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree; Preferably in a technical discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Licensures/Certifications preferred
