Job Description:

HITT Contracting is seeking a Director of Virtual Construction to provide technical leadership of the Virtual Construction team. This pivotal role requires a dynamic and experienced virtual design and construction professional to lead digital delivery processes, which includes leading the integration and application of virtual construction technologies such as BIM, 4D/5D modeling, reality capture, and other advanced digital tools across HITT's portfolio of projects.

The Director of Virtual Construction will lead a team of virtual construction professionals, and collaborate closely with HITT Operations leadership, design teams, and trade partners to ensure the successful execution of innovative digital construction strategies that enhance project delivery, optimize performance, and drive operational efficiency. The Virtual Construction Director will sit in HITT's Falls Church, VA headquarters, reporting to the Vice President of Project Solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership aligned with company goals and industry best practices.
  
• Lead the integration and implementation of virtual construction methodologies into project delivery including but not limited to BIM coordination and clash detection, reality capture, animations and sequencing, and quality control.
  
• Work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to advocate for and implement innovative virtual construction solutions.
  
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in virtual construction processes, methodologies, and workflows.
  
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the company's virtual construction capabilities and improve project outcomes.
  
• Champion the adoption of emerging construction technologies including but not limited to: augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), drones, and robotics.
  
• Ensure the effective use of digital tools, with actionable and repeatable standard operating procedures to enhance project performance and coordination.
  
• Foster collaboration between the design, preconstruction, and operations teams by ensuring effective communication and coordination through virtual construction tools.
  
• Oversee the development of virtual models and simulations to support project planning, design, and construction processes, improving decision-making and minimizing risks.
  
• Work closely with operations leadership to ensure that virtual construction technologies are utilized to their full potential on each project.
  
• Develop and lead training programs to ensure that internal teams are proficient in the use of virtual construction tools and methodologies.
  
• Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations, promoting a culture of continuous learning and technological advancement within the team.
  
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and consultants to provide virtual construction services that align with project goals and expectations.
  
• Present and demonstrate virtual construction capabilities to clients, stakeholders, and potential partners, showcasing the company's expertise in digital project delivery.
  
• Ensure client satisfaction by ensuring that virtual construction tools and models are used effectively to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  

• Over 8 years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, with a comprehensive understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes. Demonstrated expertise in applying cutting-edge BIM tools and virtual construction techniques to streamline project workflows and deliver high-quality, efficient construction solutions.
  
• Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of successfully managing and inspiring cross-functional teams. Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop talent within diverse teams, fostering a collaborative environment that drives performance, innovation, and continuous improvement across the entire project lifecycle.
  
• In-depth proficiency in a wide range of industry-standard BIM and VDC software tools, including Revit, Navisworks, Synchro Pro, CM Builder, Revizto, and laser scanning technologies (e.g., NavVis, Faro). Skilled in using Bluebeam, Primavera P6 (P6), and Microsoft Office to enhance project planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring seamless integration of virtual models with physical construction processes.
  
• A strong commitment to continuous learning and the adoption of emerging technologies in construction. Enthusiastic about staying ahead of industry trends, actively seeking new tools, methodologies, and innovations that can improve project outcomes and enhance overall construction performance.
  
• Active and engaged member of key professional organizations and relevant industry groups. Committed to ongoing professional development and contributing to the advancement of BIM and VDC practices within the construction industry.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to foster strong relationships with clients, project teams, and external partners, ensuring alignment and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.
  
• Demonstrated success in implementing virtual construction strategies on large-scale, complex commercial projects, including managing BIM coordination, clash detection, and 4D sequencing. A history of delivering innovative, high-impact solutions that optimize scheduling, reduce costs, and enhance constructability and project outcomes.
