ABOUT THE ROLE
REPAY is looking for an experienced senior technologist to help us continually improve our payment related architecture. In this role you'll have an opportunity to help REPAY continue the innovative work that has made us a leader in the payments industry. Working with other technology leaders, you and your team will propose solutions to complex business problems, design our systems to take advantage of cutting-edge technology and help integrate platforms as we grow both organically and through acquisition. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architectural Design and Strategy:
- Develop and maintain the overall architectural roadmap and strategy for REPAY SaaS platforms.
- Ensure alignment of the platform architecture with business goals and technology standards.
- Define and document architectural patterns, principles, and best practices.
- Technology Leadership:
- Lead the selection and integration of appropriate technology stacks, frameworks, and tools.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve the platform.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of REPAY SaaS platforms.
- Solution Design:
- Design and oversee the implementation of complex software systems and services.
- Create and manage architectural blueprints, solution designs, and technical specifications.
- Ensure that all solutions are effectively integrated and compliant with architectural standards.
- Cloud and Infrastructure:
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure, leveraging platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Optimize the use of cloud resources to achieve cost-efficiency and high availability.
- Implement robust DevOps practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure that the platform meets all relevant security standards and compliance requirements, including PCI and HIPAA.
- Implement best practices for data privacy, data encryption, PCI PAN (Primary Account Data) encryption and access control.
- Conduct regular architectural security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Maintain an architectural risk assessment for REPAY SaaS services.
- Technical Leadership and Mentoring:
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide guidance on technical issues and decisions.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall direction of the SaaS platform.
- Design Patterns and Best Practices:
- Promote the use of industry-standard design patterns, such as microservices, event-driven architecture, and API-first design.
- Implement and advocate for best practices in software development, such as code reviews, automated testing, and agile methodologies.
- Ensure the maintainability and extensibility of the platform by promoting modular and loosely-coupled designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in software architecture and development with a focus on SaaS platforms.
- Experience with large scale payment systems and the associated scaling and security requirements.
- Strong expertise in cloud computing, especially with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proven experience with architectural frameworks, such as: TOGAF, Zachman, Twelve-factor App, AWS Well Architected Framework.
- Deep understanding of design patterns and best practices in software architecture.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
- Experience with modern development practices, including Agile and DevOps.
- Strong expertise in scaling .NET and Windows based applications in AWS.
- Deep understanding of serverless technologies, containerization and Kubernetes.
