Summary of role:
GlobalFoundries (GF) is seeking a self-driven professional with proven expertise to develop leading-edge test solutions for GaN integrated circuit designs in the growing Automotive Electric Vehicles (EVs), consumer and high-power markets using next-generation GF proprietary wide bandgap (WBG) technologies. The successful candidate shall demonstrate the ability to develop novel, cost-effective test solutions and to provide leadership skills to advance an established world-class test engineering team.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Implement the test strategy aligned with GaN and other high-power technology requirements, including industry test criteria standardization and contribute to the selection of an Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platform that supports both device characterization and scalability to high-volume production.
- Drive customer interactions to provide comprehensive, cost-effective test solutions aligned with anticipated product qualification, zero-defectivity and high-volume requirements.
- Technical program manager for engagement with GF internal and client design teams to define technology qualification vehicles, including safety-critical reliability criteria, and product final test requirements; to design hardware consisting of probe cards & probe interface boards capable to meet GaN RF and Power applications.
- Full-time position at GF state-of-the-art Test Labs in Essex Junction, VT with some level of remote work flexibility.

Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- 5+ years' experience in power management, precision analog and mixed signal test development for high-power characterization & qualification of WGB (GaN-HEMT) based technologies.
- 5+ years' expertise in developing highly parallel, DC & AC solutions for GaN-based products built on market leaders ATE platforms - e.g. Crea/Advantest or Teradyne ETS.
- 5+ PCB board design with emphasis on high-power, low inductance and multi-site techniques.
- Advanced understanding of WBG (GaN-HEMT) semiconductor technologies, related circuit design applications, required characterization criteria, critical figure of merits for cost-effective production test coverage.
- Proven experience in hands-on engineering with excellence in debugging skills.
- Advanced C or C++ Programming in a Linux environment. Fluency in shell scripting, multi-paradigm (Matlab/R) and high-level programming languages (Python/Perl) for automation and advanced analytics.
- Proven ability to solve complex, critical problems related to significant and unique issues at the test hardware level. Ability to use extensive research, analytical thinking and innovative methods to develop accurate, reliable and repeatable test solutions.
- Demonstrated excellence in execution - both at the individual and team leader level. Proficient people skills and communication skills both written & verbal.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of circuit design experience for applications in the electric Vehicles (EVs), Automotive, RF and high-power markets.
- 5+ years' experience in relevant measurements such as load-pull, dynamic ON-resistance (RdsON), time-dependent dielectric breakdown (TDDB), etc.
- Leading inventor on patents. First author on several publications with some citations.
- Mastery of verbal and written communication to successfully interact with highly technical teams, engage with highly versed clients and to provide documentation of the highest quality.
- Embrace the "push the envelope" approach, while living naturally-curious lives and enjoying the process to venture into uncharted waters.
Expected Salary Range$91,600.00 - $170,000.00
