As a Hardware Engineering Technician a typical day might include the following:
- Perform basic electronic hardware tests in accordance with defined engineering procedures or guidelines under the direction of engineers or more experienced technicians.
- Build engineering prototypes under the direction of an electrical engineer or experienced technician. Document prototype construction and maintain pertinent engineering records.
- Assist engineers in the evaluation of new electronic components.
- Assemble test fixtures, load banks, and other components common to product development.
- Provide support to engineering staff as needed.
- Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) of modest complexity under the direction of engineers or more experienced technicians.
This job might be for you if:
- Two-year electronic technology or related associate degree
- Working knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits
- Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as Python and C.
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with C and assembly languages
- Experience with O.S. and computer equipment
- Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems

Pay Range Data:Technician I $24.29 - $36.50 per hour. Technician II $27.51 - $41.24 per hour. Technician III $30.67 - $47.98 per hour. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
