Position Summary: FAU Harbor Branch, located in Ft. Pierce, is a research institute focusing on marine science and oceanography with over 200 scientists, staff and students that work and study at the site.
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Research Activities Assistant - Fort Pierce, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of sample containers and standard laboratory analyses of water samples including turbidity, total suspended solids, chlorophyll, CDOM and phycobilin.
Assist with the general care, support, and maintenance of field/lab equipment.
Assist with the preparation of reagents and standards.
Assist with field sampling from small boat as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to work with a team and communicate well with all levels of employees required.
Must be able to work in the field from a small boat in all types of weather required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs required.
Must be able to work outside of normal business hours, with flexibility to start earlier or later depending on department needs required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Previous work experience or coursework in marine science, or related disciplines.
Salary:$15.00 - $17.00 per hour.

Work Days and Hours:Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
