Meta designs, develops, and builds all its own AR/VR and Portal hardware products. The Strategic Sourcing team is responsible for managing spend covering all IP licensing, raw materials, from individual components on a PCB, to the final consumer end product. The team owns the commercial growth strategy and business relationships with all suppliers and manufacturers. The sourcing team moves fast and leverages key partnerships to drive technical innovation, high quality standards and cost-savings via a customized supply chain.Meta is seeking an experienced Health Tech Sourcing & Partnerships Manager that creates disruptive value by influencing the product definitions, designs, and specifications for our organization, for the development and manufacturing of our AR/VR hardware and software. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing across our ecosystem, including the commercial, operational and technical performance of our technology and supplier base. You will be responsible for quality, product and material availability, and cost that spans sensor and health technologies and development services for our AR/VR vectors.
Health Tech Partnerships Manager Responsibilities:
- Partner with Health Tech, Product Management, Engineering, UX and other cross-functional partners to identify and develop products and technologies that deliver target experiences with best-in-class commercial terms and conditions
- Develop the overall vision, strategy and execution plan for the off the shelf sensors, custom sensors, and health technologies such as IP/SW and drive an integrated long-term partner development approach focused on delivering best-in-class technology quality, service, delivery and cost
- Negotiate and execute master agreements, supply contracts and other critical agreements including but not limited to licensing agreements, Statements of Work, etc.
- Establish, manage and own strategic supplier relationships at the supplier executive level
- Lead Supplier Quarterly Business Review process focused on exceeding Meta KPI's and continuous performance improvement
- Influence supplier technology roadmaps and create internal disruptive value-add to ensure Meta's system architecture and commercial requirements are met
- Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the Meta AR/VR supply chain
- Drive Early Supplier Involvement initiatives to ensure our suppliers are proactively providing input into new product designs and future product roadmaps
- Establish supplier selection criteria, evaluate alternative suppliers, manage RFQ processes, and drive final supplier selection in partnership with cross functional teams
- Initiate and lead ongoing Cost Reduction programs to ensure the lowest possible total cost, including product cost, transportation cost, inventory cost, and cost of quality
- Formulate contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single source, and any supply issue
- Institute programs to optimize schedule flexibility while minimizing excess inventory exposure
- Work with Supply Base Engineering and our Contract Manufacturer partners to avoid any potential part shortages or quality problems which are affecting production schedules
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Engineering or Health Technologies
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role developing sensor applications, and health technology IP roadmaps
- 5+ years experience negotiating complex agreements in the sensors and IP space
- Experience in developing and partnering with cross-functional leaders in bringing strategies to fruition
- Leadership, program management and cross-functional teamwork experience
- Experience with communicating and influencing all levels of management
- Subject matter expert in sensor and IP cost profiles and should-cost models
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- 5+ years experience with high volume, consumer electronics products
