Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of all permanent program and relief staff.
Job Summary:
The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the home. They ensure the quality of care, supervision, support and training for all individuals, assisting them to access preferred community activities and ensure that all individuals receive appropriate medical care. Managers provide leadership to a team of residential staff and together they work to offer supports which meet the unique needs of all individuals, always in a dignified and respectful approach.
This is an exempt position.
Essential Functions of Position:
• Promotes and strengthens opportunities for valued roles and growth at home, in the community and within their social network and for varied and meaningful relationships
• Ensures that all staff interact with all clients, co-workers and stake holders in a respectful and dignified manner understanding and embracing differences
• Provides support and assistance to promote optimal health such as arranging for all necessary medical services for the individuals and following through with all recommendations; ensures that medications are available and administered as prescribed
• Ensure a person centered and PBS oriented approach is implemented throughout the program
• Engages in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, work assignments, scheduling, direct observation of work, supervision, conflict resolution, progressive discipline, and performance evaluation as well as identifies strengths and professional development opportunities
• Provides ongoing supervision, training and evaluation of all staff to ensure each is fulfilling their job responsibilities, work assignments and are following all plans and policies. Managers are expected to address and report any violations in a timely manner and to promote our philosophy for service delivery.
• Provides support to the program and the Administrator on Call for after-hours emergencies or concerns
• Represents their program, individuals and the agency in a professional manner when dealing with outside agencies
• Coordinates and leads staff meetings, is an active knowledgeable contributor at all client related and agency meetings
• Maintains individuals' records, data book, program log and policy book, and medication book in an orderly fashion and in compliance with D.D.S. and
Growthways specifications
• Develops all aspects of the individuals' I.S.P.s in conjunction with the individual, agency support team, and guardian. Provides input to service plan development and implementation, monitors their effectiveness and reports outcomes to appropriate entities, ensures all plans are implemented as specified in this plan
• Ensures accurate, professionally written, and timely programmatic documentation
• Is a strong advocate for the individual and maintains a positive rapport
• Ensures for the safety of all clients and staff by following all plans for preventative and proper maintenance and cleanliness of the physical site and program vehicle in compliance with all requirements and reports all concerns in a timely manner
• Carries out tasks related to the day to day operations including scheduling staff, facilitating staff meetings, responsible for management of financial and budgetary processes (e.g.: client and program funds and budgets)
• Ensures that agency policies and regulatory standards are met and maintained, including internal QA, and external regulatory bodies, such as: DPH, DDS, CMS, DPPC, and MAP
• Performs other related work duties as needed or as assigned by their supervisor
Requirements for the position:
• BA/BS in related field preferred with at least 2 years' experience in the human service field and demonstrated leadership skills/previous supervisory experience
• Minimum of 4 years' previous work experience in human service setting and in lieu of educational requirement and demonstrated leadership skills/previous supervisory experience
• Department of Public Health certification in medication administration is required. *within 6-months of date of hire to retain employment*.
• CPR & First Aid (SFA) certification is required. * within 30 days of date of hire.
• Safety Care is required at some programs. * must become certified within 90 days of date of hire.
• Possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record and one year driving experience
• Must work at least one weekend day. Schedule includes direct care responsibilities
• Proficient in clinical and professional verbal, writing, and computer skills
• Ability to go up and down stairs and the physical capacity to physically assist persons served as needed
