RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Evansville, IN that is seeking an IBM Z Test Data Specialist. This role plays a critical role in ensuring that IBM mainframe-based applications function as expected through well-managed and valid test data.Responsibilities:- Test Data Generation: Creating and managing realistic test data for application testing on mainframes, often ensuring it is anonymized to meet compliance regulations
- Data Validation: Ensuring that the data being used in tests accurately reflects real-world scenarios and that the system functions correctly with the given test data
- JCL Scripting: Writing, modifying, and troubleshooting JCL scripts to manage batch processes, such as test data creation, running COBOL programs, or handling I/O operations
- Support COBOL Testing: Assisting with COBOL application testing by providing relevant test data, reviewing COBOL code logic, and ensuring correct outputs during testing
- Mainframe Environment Maintenance: Maintaining mainframe environments for testing, including managing datasets, job schedules, and resource allocation
- Data Anonymization: Implementing strategies to anonymize production data to protect sensitive information when used in testing environments
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong experience with IBM Z/z/OS
- Advanced JCL skills for job scripting and automation
- COBOL programming knowledge to understand application logic and assist in testing
- Data management experience including data validation, generation, and anonymization techniques
- Experience with mainframe tools such as IBM DB2, IMS, or other data management systems on the IBM Z platform
- Knowledge of testing frameworks for mainframe applications, such as regression testing, functional testing, and performance testing
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
