Description:
We are working with a manufacturer in the Quincy, MA area seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Lead that will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems throughout their operations. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, automation technologies, and project management skills. This position will be responsible for a team of techs that will serve as a more strategic hands-on leader.

Responsibilities

• Design and Development:
  • Develop and implement instrumentation and control systems to meet project requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
  • Create detailed design specifications, drawings, and documentation.
• Installation and Commissioning:
  • Oversee the installation of instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Coordinate with other project teams to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Conduct commissioning activities to verify system functionality and performance.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and upgrades.
• Project Management:
  • Manage instrumentation and control projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead a team of instrumentation and control technicians.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and codes.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections.
  • Prepare documentation for regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in instrumentation and control systems.
• Strong understanding of automation technologies (e.g., PLC, DCS, SCADA).
• Proficiency in instrumentation and control design software.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
