Job Description:

Under supervision and direction of the Open Systems Cloud Supervisor, this position will be responsible for mentoring and guiding systems senior engineers with advanced problem resolution skills who are responsible for planning, design, development, optimization, documentation, maintenance, and performance of the State's Enterprise Cloud environments (Amazon Web Services) The position will assist in design, implementation and support of the cloud environment.
Location: 501 S. 14th Street Lincoln, NE
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.
Job duties
- Candidates will provide technical support at a lead level for our Azure cloud environment. Candidates will work closely with customers to determine the best course of action for their project and be a technical representative for the Cloud processes.
- Candidate will act as technical liaison between the supervisor and subordinate teammates and offer support to our clients. Develop and maintain procedures and processes, create documentation, and assist clients and other information technology employees.
Requirements/QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Associate degree in computer science or a related area plus four years related technical and business experience, one of which must involve providing guidance and direction to lower level information technology staff
OR Post high school coursework in computer science/information technology plus five years related technical and business experience, one of which must involve providing guidance and direction to lower level information technology staff.
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of information technology theory, principles, and practices
- Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software
- General knowledge of local and wide area network systems
- Knowledge of client/server network protocols and Internet/Intranet applications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
- Knowledge of Microsoft cloud infrastructure
- Skill in delivering responsive, quality customer service
- Ability to write clear and concise documentation of systems and procedures
- Ability to successfully apply information engineering techniques; ability to design a data centered information system; ability to effectively design and use relational databases; ability to effectively test and debug systems and programs
- Ability to accurately estimate time and cost requirements in project development and implementation
- Ability to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals
- Ability to plan, organize, and meet schedules and timelines for assigned work
