The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, who reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization and decreasing costs. Position Summary:
The LPN provides patient care as assigned under the direction of the RN or LIP. The LPN provides care in collaboration with the patient, family, and other members of the patient care team. The LPN administers care utilizing the nursing process and practices within their scope of practice and the standards of the OSUWMC.
Duties and Responsibilities:
90% of time Collaborates with the RN and other members of the patient care team in providing patient care and documenting observations and care given.
5% of time Participates with team in quality assessment and improvement activities
5% of time assumes other duties as assigned
