Job Description:

Caterpillar's Resource Industries Operations & Products (RIOP) Logistics Planning Analyst is responsible for inventory storage utilization, optimizing storage efficiency, and improving facility operational results.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work independently or with multi-functional teams to design and maintain replenishment strategies for production processes
  • Manage the day-to-day Inbound Logistics Center (ILC) replenishment process and associated personnel
  • Create/maintain all standard work for ILC replenishment
  • Perform inventory counts as needed
  • Perform all Shelf-Life Expiration Date (SLED) audits to adhere to Customer Acceptance Validation (CAV) requirements
  • Gather and analyze data on facility demand and material consumption
  • Lead all Planning and Forecasting (PF)-to-ILC/ILC-to-PF changes
  • Lead or participate on cross-functional teams pursuing facility improvements
  • Collaborate with other supply chain teams to benchmark best practices and implement improvements
Top Candidates Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain/business from an accredited college or university
  • Prior experience in SAP Mach1
  • Previous experience in other Logistics/Supply Chain roles
  • Demonstrated understanding of factory material flow and assembly production operations
  • Knowledge of NPI and Engineering Change Processes
  • Strong technical and data analysis skills
  • Strong customer focus and ability to influence
  • Experience using computers and Microsoft Office programs
Degree Requirement:

• Analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies.
• Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems.

Inventory Management:
• Performs the receiving, ticketing, checking in and distributing of inventory items for a specific location.
• Produces basic inventory management reports for senior staff to reconcile the inventory balances.
• Tracks inventory information for a specific product group or location.
• Works with basic tasks of inventory management for a specific location.
• Follows processes to take stock, release inventory or return into processing; resolves discrepancies.

Logistics Management:
• Uses tools, with guidance, to forecast delivery times, determine costs and assess performance.
• Works with logistics in a domestic environment.
• Maintains records of all shipments and invoices using an established system.
• Assists in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity.
• Participates in integrating logistics processes and developing effective networks.

Supply Chain Management:
• Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain.
• Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
• Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions.
• Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products.
• Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.

Additional Information:
  • The primary location for this position is East Peoria, IL (SS)
  • On-site 5 days per week required
  • Domestic relocation assistance is not available
  • This position may require 5% travel

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
