Responsible for the timely and professional completion of maintenance related activities for the entire company while bringing a skill set focused on Injection Molding Machines and related support equipment. Documentation of repairs and work will require the extensive use of the Company's ERP software package and other reporting tools. The position requires an individual with good teamwork, troubleshooting and varied repair skills, with an eagerness to provide exceptional customer service to departments and individuals throughout the company that bring diverse maintenance, general assistance, and service requests. The Technician will also perform light project work, assist in administrative work, support the Facilities Manager in facilities-related tasks, and maintain all equipment, work areas, and the facility in general, in a meticulously clean and orderly manner.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely troubleshoots, repairs, and executes all preventive maintenance tasks on injection molding related equipment required in manufacturing operations.
  • Dismantles machinery and equipment to gain access for preventive maintenance or repair diagnoses. Removes and replaces worn or defective parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, pulleys, gears, bearings, bushings, etc. Repairs hoses, wiring, valves, etc., reassembles and verifies proper function.
  • Must be able to perform injection unit teardown, cleaning, inspection, measure and reassembly.
  • Inspects and tests machinery and equipment to detect causes of malfunctions.
  • Must be able to interpret electrical drawings and schematics in the troubleshooting process.
  • Ability to perform job functions with a meticulous and anal attention to detail for completing the job correct the first time.
  • Ability to train other technicians on injection molding equipment as required.
  • Analyzes Fault Reports and service requests from personnel, diagnoses and determines appropriate course of action, accurately documents all work, findings and expenses in the appropriate interface, closes work orders and service requests in a timely manner according to procedure.
  • Effectively communicates with outside equipment suppliers to obtain competitive quotes, resolve equipment performance, maintenance, and reliability issues.
  • Efficiently shares information, ideas, and experiences with coworkers to contribute to the team atmosphere of continual improvement and effective/efficient processes.
  • Maintains meticulous housekeeping with regard to work areas, tools, instruments and other company equipment to continually reflect the high standards of the company.
  • Performs purchasing duties for the replacement of equipment components using the company's ERP software to generate, process, receive and close Purchase Orders; where applicable, administers the proper and appropriate use of a company-supplied credit card including maintaining an electronic account and submitting timely month-end statements for approval.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Must be able to work effectively within OSHA mandated safety guidelines and perform tasks in a safe manner using proper methods and tools.
  • Must have knowledge of and apply energy control procedures (lock out/tag out) properly.
  • Must be able to use the company's electronic MSDS database, read, understand and use MSDS sheets.
  • Completes scheduled work on time, accurately and completely with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to use standard hand tools, repair and diagnostic instruments and tools.
  • Must be able to safely operate and maintain general powered industrial lawn equipment, lawn tractor, propane-powered forklift and company vehicle.
  • Must be able to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Must be able to interpret standard machine manuals provided by equipment suppliers.
  • Must understand and be able to apply ISO 9001 concepts.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and work instructions and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and others.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Proficient in use and navigation of Windows operating system in a networked environment including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to use advanced functions in most standard office applications.
  • Ability to carry out daily work tasks via software within an enterprise ERP software system and other applications


Education and Experience Requirements
  • Associate degree (A.A.) in Electronics or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or the equivalent combination of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Injection Molding operations and support with working knowledge of injection unit teardown and assembly.
  • Minimum of three years of experience repairing and/or installing mechanical/electrical equipment used in a production atmosphere.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficient use of outside mics, dial bore gage, screw mics and other measuring tools as required to take measurements of 0.0001".


Position will be posted until 2/13/2025 or until filled.

Hourly Range for this position is: $28 to $31 per hour., and bonus target is 3%; shift premium may be available depending on shift associated with the specific job opportunity. The base pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, business considerations, and local market conditions, as well as candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, and skills"
