JOB DESCRIPTION

The Manager, Talent Acquisition and Management Strategies, serves as a strategic leader, responsible for developing and executing talent initiatives that align with AgFirst's HR Strategic Focus Areas. This role is pivotal in leading innovative programs and processes that attract, develop, and retain top-tier talent across all levels of the organization. Working closely with senior leadership and HR teams, the Manager drives initiatives that enhance talent acquisition, development, and retention while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and inspire a recruiting and talent management team to connect top talent with opportunities while overseeing the recruitment process from sourcing to hiring and executive search.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders to understand, address, and deliver talent strategies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop impactful hiring and retention programs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and advance diverse talent, fostering inclusion, and enhancing employer branding.
  • Establish partnerships with academic institutions and technical schools to build talent pipelines and collaborate on internship and entry-level programs.
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies, job boards, and contractors, including negotiating contracts, setting expectations, and ensuring compliance.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess recruitment effectiveness, measure DEIB impact, and retention to guide strategic decisions.
  • Refine the selection, assessment and interview and feedback process to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Lead talent mobility initiatives to optimize workforce capabilities and retention; align talent strategies with business goals to enhance engagement and satisfaction.
  • Implement succession planning strategies to ensure a pipeline of qualified internal candidates for key positions.
  • Support high-potential talent identification and development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, career growth, and delivering on talent matrix strategies.
  • Collaborate with peers within the broader Talent Solutions function to integrate systems and processes for an enhanced candidate and employee experience.
  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a seamless transition and integration into the organization, including implementing function-specific orientation guidebook templates.
  • Foster a culture of self-directed development, ensuring employees are equipped with cutting-edge skills.
  • Drive the launch and growth of the gig platform by leading market research, platform development, go-to-market strategy, and user onboarding.
Strategic Partnerships and External Relations:
  • Provide coaching and strategic advising to partner with members of the broader Talent Solutions team.
  • Serve as a key member of the Human Resources Leadership Team.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with external partners, including recruitment agencies, search firms, and industry partnerships, to support talent goals and enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional efforts across HR functions to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
  • Enhance partnerships with the AgFirst district in talent strategies.
  • Lead projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Leadership and Strategy:
  • Lead and mentor a team of talent acquisition and management professionals.
  • Champion the value proposition of Talent Acquisition and Management activities, securing organizational buy-in.
  • Develop and manage budget.
  • Collaborate with leaders and HR business partners to design development plans that enable the intentional movement of key talent into critical roles.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on talent-related strategies.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration
  • 10+ years in talent acquisition/management leadership roles, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop talent functions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a wide array of corporate positions.
  • Strong ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Experienced and comfortable working directly with C-level internal customers.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software, social media, and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
Nice to Have:
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Any HR-related certifications preferred.
