Volt is immediately hiring for an Material Handler in Milpitas, CA.
General Description:
Responsible for performing the physical tasks involved in the picking, storing, counting, and distributing materials, parts,
supplies to manufacturing lines. Perform the material receipts, put-away of inbound material and prepare package and
ship goods to customers, including loading and unload, packages, pallets, and crates.
Principal Activities:
- Loading and unloading pallets, packages, and crates onto and off trucks, using proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Operating typical warehouse equipment, walkie lift, pallet jack, carts, wrapper, and strapper.
- From an order listing physically lift and pick required items ensure the correct part and qty.
- Delivery and transporting materials to manufacturing stations, physically, and with cart, or pallet jack.
- Receipt and put-away of inbound material and goods to proper storage locations.
- Prepare shipping documents, carrier scheduling, and loading crates into trailers, apply seals as required.
Skills and qualifications - Proficiency in basic math, verbal, and written communications and general computer skills.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and follow verbal and documented instructions.
- Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving packages.
- Physically fit with the ability to frequently lift objects weighing 50lbs.
- Ability to work as a team and expect to work collaboratively with your co-workers.
- Familiar with typical warehouse activities - material picking, kitting, put-away, and counting.
- Familiar with typical warehouse documents - Transfer, pick list, BOL/AWB.
- Familiar with operating typical warehouse equipment, pallet jack, scale, wrapping & strapping.
- Flexibility to work additional hours such as evenings, weekends and holidays as requested.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and handle large
components: push, pull, bend and stoop, while moving goods and material to manufacturing. Loading and
unloading trucks with pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment. The employee must
regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 40 pounds and frequently use warehouse
equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Pay Rate: $23.00 USD an hour.
