Department: Clinical Trauma

This is a hybrid position with 1 day per week required in office after training is completed.

About: Ensures accurate and compliant coding of medical records related to trauma cases. Reviews clinical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and other codes, ensuring all services provided are accurately captured for billing, compliance, and reporting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage Customer/Vendor Relationships- Build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Analysis- Respond to system related requests from the department/division. Maintain issues log and troubleshooting guide. Document issue resolution. Work with department/division to understand reporting needs. Prepare statistical summaries and reports. Develop reports through efficient use of various tools available. Run reports as needed by the department/division. May maintain department/division web site.
  • Technical Support- Serve as liaison between the department and Information Services. Participate in the execution of test scripts to validate systems implementations and modifications. May maintain system data and tables.
  • Design and Development- Support technical solutions that will increase the efficiency of the department/division. Understand the downstream impact of changes in technology. Assist in the preparation of user documentation for department/division systems, including training manuals. Assist with and conduct training as needed.
  • Process Improvement- Document business processes. Improve efficiency of department/division processes and software.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years of work experience in a related job discipline
  • Medical coding experience preferred (ICD-10)
