RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX that is seeking a Network Engineer II.Key Responsibilities:- Network Implementation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and VPNs
- Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, performance issues, and security incidents; Provide Tier 2 support for network-related issues and escalations
- Network Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor network performance using tools and dashboards, analyze traffic patterns, and make adjustments to optimize network performance
- Security and Compliance: Ensure network security by implementing firewall rules, VPN policies, and access control; Support compliance initiatives by maintaining best practices and adhering to relevant security standards
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps; Create reports on network performance, utilization, and incidents for management review
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT support, application teams, and cybersecurity, to support seamless network operations and achieve organizational goals
- Project Support: Participate in network-related projects, including network expansions, technology upgrades, and migrations, contributing to planning, testing, and deployment phases
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certification preferred
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network equipment
- Proficiency in network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF)
- Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios)
- Knowledge of firewall configurations and security practices
- Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
