The Occupational Therapist on the Behavioral Health Unit is responsible for coordinating, planning, and delivering quality occupational therapy services to inpatients on Cooley Dickinson's West 5 unit.
This position reports to the Assistant Clinical Manager, Behavioral Health and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school required
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
- De-escalation training within 90 days from hire, as well as on-going re-training as required
- Occupational therapy experience in a mental health setting preferred, including the ability to facilitate groups
- Demonstrated effective communication skills required. Demonstrated knowledge and use of occupational therapy skills to include recreation, activity, and/or creative therapies required
