Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Paralegal - Boca Raton, FL.

The Office of the General Counsel at Florida Atlantic University provides legal advice and services to the University's agents, officers, employees, and related organizations on university matters. The paralegal will report to the Vice President and General Counsel.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting University Counsel with research of state and federal law, and administrative and fiscal rules and policies.

  • Manages the University's response to subpoenas, records requests, and garnishment actions.

  • Assists litigation counsel with pretrial preparation and discovery, including record production, witness preparation, e-filing, and scheduling.

  • Assists with project and records management, contract review and processing, and administrative operations of the Office of the General Counsel.

  • Assist University administrators and inter-institutional groups in resolving specific legal, administrative, and regulatory problems. Will also assist with the dissemination of information regarding SUS/University rules, policies and contracts.

  • May serve as a liaison between the Office of the General Counsel and other agencies and departments.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required.

Three years of appropriate experience in a law firm or legal department required.


Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
