The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the fields of algebra, geometry, topology, representation theory and mathematical physics. This position is for one year and is renewable for at least an additional year, pending satisfactory performance and the availability of funding. The proposed start date is July 1, 2025. The mission of the Department of Mathematics is to extend the frontiers of mathematical knowledge and the ways it is used in the real world, to disseminate that knowledge and train the next generation of teachers and researchers, as well as those choosing careers with industry or government. Duties of this position will include teaching three semester-long courses during each academic year, supervising students, and continued strong and independent research.

Candidates should have received a doctorate in mathematics or a closely related field.
