St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Print Center Associate. This position is responsible for the digital print workflow for the Print Center, including: estimating jobs, managing the work flow, including project management and prioritizing, detailed review and critique of submitted jobs, and delivery of finished products. This position also assists with the supervision of student employees, including delegation of tasks, training, and development.

Specific responsibilities:

Print Production and Equipment Operation - 60%

  • Assist in processing small and large format print orders, including finishing services.

  • Operate and maintain printing and finishing equipment under the guidance of the Print Center Lead.

  • Collaborate with customers to ensure print job requirements are met and quality standards are upheld.

Inventory and Supplies Management - 10%

  • Help manage inventory levels of paper, office supplies, and other materials necessary for daily operations.

  • Assist in tracking usage and preparing billing reports.

Website and Online Ordering Support - 10%

  • Assist in updating and optimizing the online ordering platform to reflect current offerings and promotions.

  • Support the maintenance and functionality of the Print Center's website.

Training and Supervision - 10%

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of 6-8 student employees, focusing on their professional growth and development.

  • Oversee student employees' daily tasks, ensuring efficient execution and adherence to high-quality standards.

  • Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support, ensuring consistent application of Print Center standards and procedures.

  • Cultivate a collaborative and professional work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Promotional Material Assistance - 5%

  • Contribute to the design and creation of promotional materials, such as posters, flyers, and digital signage.

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to align promotional strategies with college branding.

Workflow Coordination - 5%

  • Coordinate with clients and campus departments to schedule and prioritize print jobs.

  • Assist in evaluating job turnaround times and implementing efficiency improvements.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to print production, customer orders, and inventory.

Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education -

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Arts or equivalent combination of skills and experience

Experience and Credentials -

  • 2-3 years of printing/copying/binding equipment experience.

  • 2-3 years of graphic arts experience.

  • 2-3 years of customer service experience.

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -

  • Knowledge of paper types, textures, weights, prices and qualities.

  • Knowledge of Mac and PC design/print applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Acrobat.

  • Ability to operate and maintain print equipment (e.g., printers, copiers, binding machines).

  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles, including layout, typography, and color theory.

  • Ability to create, modify, and prepare design files for print production.

  • Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.

  • Keen attention to detail, ensuring the quality of printed materials.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
