POSITION PURPOSE:
Support the product development activities which including prototyping, testing, documenting and proposing solutions. Coordinate the development of finishing repair materials - processes including testing, documenting and implementing these materials - processes as directed and authorized by the Director of PE.

Experience
* Ability to operate basic wood working equipment
* Ability to read engineering drawings - interpret dimensions - tolerances
Skills
* Proficient in Microsoft office products which include Word, Excel - PowerPoint
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
* Must have strong organizational and planning skills
Education
* 2-year technical degree (or) high school diploma with experience may considered in lieu of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Create prototypes to support product engineering projects using a variety of equipment available on-site.
* Test products using established testing methodologies, clearly document the results and communicate to key stake holders.
* Subject matter expert for finishing repair material across the company. Coordinate the development, testing, approval - implementation of test material.
* Responsible for maintaining 5S in the PD shop including supporting day to day needs. Day to day needs includes transporting - coordinating material needed at PD between manufacturing facilities.
* Support the day to day needs to various stakeholders in the product development location.
* Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Typically, this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

* Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division.

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, mathematical or diagram form and develop a plan of action to follow those instructions.
* Physical Demands:
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
* Working Environment:
* Typical office environment with testing lab. The noise level is usually moderate. Work hours will not vary greatly from normal business hours. Occasional weekend work may be required. Occasional travel is required.
* Reports to: Product Engineering Director
