The Department of Energy Science & Engineering focuses on developing the engineering science needed to transform the global energy system to sustain the people and the planet.The Department is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to support the Stanford Center for Carbon Storage (SCCS) and provide direct support to one of the Center's Faculty Directors and its Managing Director. This position will provide comprehensive administrative support with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience in resolving calendaring conflicts, arranging complex travel schedules, and coordinating large multi-day events and will have strong communication and organizational skills. Your Responsibilities will include:

    Coordinating the logistics of annual meetings, research group events, and workshops ranging in size from 20 to 300 people. Independently handling all event details including contracting with vendors, securing venues, managing event registration, and providing on-site event support.Managing the Faculty Director and Managing Director's calendars. Determining priorities and resolving conflicting meeting requests accordingly; coordinating with other administrators to schedule meetings.Creating and editing web site content.Managing complicated business travel in compliance with Department, University, and sponsor policies. Processing associated travel reimbursements and research-related purchasing card transactions.
To be successful in this position, you will need:
    High school diploma and four years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.Demonstrated success in following through and completing projectsAdvanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software, and email applications.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and assign work to others.Ability to take initiative and ownership of projectsAbility to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions
In addition, our preferred requirements include:
    Knowledge of Stanford University systems and policiesExperience planning and coordinating a wide variety of eventsExperience with web site maintenance, preferably using Drupal
Physical requirements:
    Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.Frequently sitting.Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.
The expected pay range for this position is $39.46 to $44.30 per hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.At Stanford University, base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
