The Fund Raising School offers public courses and customized training designed to bolster the fundraising efforts of professionals, board members, and volunteers in the nonprofit sector. Public courses are taught in-person in 10 US cities, while custom training is delivered at the locations of partnering organizations around the world. The Fund Raising School also has a strong online presence via virtual and asynchronous courses as well as through quarterly webinars and a weekly podcast
Job Summary
The Fund Raising School is seeking a highly-detailed program manager.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day management of public and custom training programs focused on fundraising, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and underrepresented communities for The Fund Raising School and the Mays Family Institute on Diverse Philanthropy.
- Oversees all logistics for in-person, virtual live, and online trainings.
- Negotiates and administers service contracts and agreements with local, regional, national, and international clients for customized courses.
- Manages relationships with vendors, and communicate with faculty, participants, and partners about program logistics.
- Prepares reports and manage post-course evaluations, invoicing, and closing process for public and custom training programs.
- Processes course registrations and support the TFRS Registrar as needed.
- Creates and proofreads department materials, including brochures, proposals, agreements, reports, and presentations.
- Schedules and participates in program-related meetings as needed in order to develop agreements, proposals, brochures, and study guides; schedule follow-up meetings with partners to sustain programs.
General Responsibilities
- Plans, directs and implements programs or events, including the creation of materials to support these events.
- Provides staff communications and serves as liaison to program participants, collaborators in other units, community partners, vendors and the public; approves staff purchase requests; arranges staff travel, accommodations, and research activities.
- Provides mechanisms, training, and advice on a variety of issues such as budget management software and advanced strategies for timely spending of grant funds. May be responsible for meeting revenue targets.
- Recruits, trains, directs, schedules, and evaluates faculty and staff partners, students and volunteers. Mentors, serves as a resource and provides guidance to team staff members as needed.
- Researches available grants and works closely with managers to identify funding needs and potential sources, creates grant proposals that further advance support of the program and program participants; May be responsible for meeting revenue targets.
- Constructs and administers program budgets and approves spending. Tracks progress on deliverables, analyzes data on projected spending and prepares reports for higher management and funding sources.
- Keeps abreast of best practices to recommend policies and procedures that deliver a quality program experience.

EDUCATION
RequiredPreferred- Master's degree in philanthropic studies, nonprofit management, education, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
RequiredPreferred
- 3 years of proven success in educational administration, fundraising, nonprofit management, or related field
- Experience planning and executing events and managing complex projects

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Additional InformationThis is a full-time staff appointment.
Work LocationIU Indianapolis Campus
A hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work) may be considered, subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs. On-campus presence is required for most employees.
